About the role

The National Lottery is looking for a Business Investigations Analyst to join our Core Operations team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in protecting the integrity of the National Lottery by identifying, investigating, and helping prevent fraud, compliance, and security-related incidents across our retail and online channels.

Reporting into the Core Operations Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring transactions, conducting investigations, analysing data, preparing reports, and providing recommendations that support risk mitigation and business protection. You will work closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders as well as external partners, retailers, players, and regulatory bodies.

This is a hybrid role based in our Dublin City Centre office 3 days per week.

What you will do

As a Business Investigations Analyst, you will:

Monitor and assess flagged retail and online transactions, determining when further investigation is required.
Conduct objective, evidence-based investigations into suspected fraud, dishonesty, compliance breaches, and integrity-related incidents.
Interview players, claimants, retailers, retailer staff, and other relevant parties as part of investigations.
Maintain detailed and accurate investigation records, case files, and supporting documentation.
Produce investigation reports, risk assessments, findings, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
Identify suspicious activity, emerging fraud trends, and potential compliance concerns across National Lottery operations.
Enhance monitoring processes, reporting, controls, and investigation methodologies to strengthen fraud detection capabilities.
Support incident management activities and liaise with authorised third parties, regulators, and law enforcement where required.
Provide guidance and awareness training to stakeholders on fraud trends and investigation outcomes.
Produce operational reporting and analysis relating to claims, compliance activities, fraud trends, and wider Core Operations metrics.
Support physical security assurance activities and the review of security controls across National Lottery locations.
Assist with wider Core Operations activities and projects as required.

What we are looking for

Experience in fraud detection, investigations, compliance, or a related risk-focused environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess information, identify trends, and make evidence-based decisions.
Experience conducting investigations, interviews, and presenting findings to stakeholders.
Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and a high level of integrity and discretion.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Power BI.
A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with a passion for protecting customers and business operations.

Desirable

Experience in law enforcement, financial services, gaming, retail operations, security, compliance, or private investigations.
Full Drivers License
Knowledge of lottery, gaming, or retail environments.
Experience with incident management, transaction monitoring, or operational reporting.
